Acne can show up just about anywhere on
your body. It always shows up as either
a bump or a lump. A few other names for
acne are pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, pimples, cysts and non professional term,
zits. For the most part teenagers and
hormones seem to go together like bread and butter to form acne. Also if your parents had it then there’s a
pretty good chance you will have it as well.
The good news however is that with a good acne attitude it is usually
gone by the time you are 20.
For most teenagers the acne appears on
their face, neck, shoulders, back and chest.
Your body has oil glands called sebaceous glands. They make the oil that helps lubricate hair
and skin. For the most part the glands
make the right amount of oil. However
when teens begin to mature hormones stimulate these glands rendering them
overactive which in turn forces them to make way more oil than needed. However with a good acne attitude there is
help.
The pores of the skin become plugged with
a mixture of the oils, dead skin and bacteria.
This mixture gets trapped inside the pores. It builds and builds. That’s the reason for the redness and
swelling that takes place. This is quite
simply how acne starts. I know it can be
tough to keep a good acne attitude but it’s a must.
The reason I keep mentioning a healthy
acne attitude is because acne can have a significant impact on a person
life. Especially teenagers. Some of the things they go through are. Lowered self esteem, less self confidence,
being preoccupied by other things, getting frustrated, terrible anger, great
depression, and withdrawal from people around them and in older teens and
adults even getting a job can be difficult with a poor appearance.
However
if you keep a good acne attitude and take all the right steps then acne really shouldn’t
be that significant of a part of your life.
